The riots in Egypt at the moment are concentrated in large cities like Cairo and Alexandria, the crowds are huge and the UK student protests pail into insignificant. Egypt is facing a particularly bad economics criss and has a chronic lack of jobs and opportunities, many blame president Mubarak and his outdated policies? Egypt is in the middle of a social and economic crisis and people are blaming the fast-ageing Mubarak for the widespread crisis affecting the country.
Mubarak has been in power for 30 years he seems powerless to help a country suffering from a lack of jobs. Mubarak has made a pledge to step down in September but this is not soon enough for the people? Even Mubarak’s pledge to step down in September is not good enough. Could they conceivably use voice recorderto get him out?
If Mubarak could somehow be coaxed into admitting he is too old for the job this could be just what is required. Of course Audio Surveillance is outlawed in Islamic states so Hidden Spy Cameras could be used to prove the ailing Mubarak’s ever worsening condition. Whether or not any of this will have an effect is up in the air at the moment. Mubarak is technically leader of the country he has power and only he can step down.
It has been suggested that foreign forces could be called into to de-thrown Mubarak but this calls into question Egypt’s independence and ability to govern itself. This won’t do wonders from Egypt’s tourism sector, visitors are advised to stay away from big cities.
